Yesterday the Departments of Labor and Education released a new FAQ on local funding agreements for one-stop infrastructure costs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Of particular note, the FAQ clarifies that the local cost-sharing agreements required by section 121(h) of WIOA are not required to be finalized for Program Year (PY) 2016—states and local areas may continue to negotiate local funding agreements as they have been doing under WIOA’s predecessor, the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), until PY 2017.
